Beginner/Intermediate Obedience

Class size will be limited. This will give each student more one-on-one training with the instructor. No "one size fits all" training. Complete the Enrollment Form and return it with your payment and your dog's vet records, including rabies certificate, in order to ensure a spot for you and your dog. |
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Beginners I Obedience
Learn how to have control of your dog, be able to communicate commands clearly and just enjoy your family pet. Classes will involve teaching your dog to walk on leash without pulling, sit, down stay, and come when called. Learn the use of words such as Leave it, Enough, Drop it and Off. Class is designed for dogs and puppies 4 months of age and up.

Beginners II Obedience
Continue your education and your pet's training. Fine tune the learned commands already taught in Beginners I. Work on attention and control when distance is introduced. Teach the down in motion and Stand/Stay. Concentrate on coming when called on and off the leash. Class will introduce the necessary commands needed to test for a Canine Good Citizen and possibly become a Therapy Dog.
A CGC/TDI test will be offered at the end of the 7-week session. Pre-registration for the test is necessary at a cost of $10 for Golden Rule students.

Ring Prep/Ring Procedure
This class is for those who are interested in working towards or have earned legs towards their Companion Dog (CD) title, both AKC and UKC registries. Also, all Rally Obedience exercise stations for all levels for APDT and AKC will be covered in this class. We will work on stationary and moving attention, working off-leash and learn ring procedures. The Class will have a week-to-week structure incorporating all the necessary commands and exercises needed to attain titles. The class will offer a Novice obedience run thru and a Rally O run thru in the 7-week course. |
Novice Obedience
 This class will be instructed by Sara Jacobs and will incorporate the Novice AKC and UKC Companion Dog (CD) exercises and Rally Obedience exercises. This class would be for those who are interested in attaining a CD or Rally title.
