Here is Fly’s story . . He was born in Illinois, purchased by someone in NY State over the internet, flown out to his home at eight weeks old. His then owner had him for two weeks, told a co-worker that he was too much trouble, very active and barked a lot, so the co-worker took him and brought him to me. He was the cutest, darkest golden retriever I had seen, my young training assistant and I decided to keep him for a while to see what he was like. We decided to re-name him “Flyer” and his training started that night. She raised him with her other dogs and he was very quick to learn, very attentive and was also my golden boy, Troy’s best friend. After some troubles that she went thru “Flyer” was given to a family member of hers at 13 months old. The good thing was he came to my school for training and he came to me for his grooming so I was able to keep in touch with him. He was always so happy to see everyone. Unfortunately, my contact with the family stopped and I lost track of “Flyer”. May of 2009 we received a phone call that they had a dark golden retriever, named Flyer, age was 4 years old and gave me the surrender last name and I said I want him!!! – they brought him to me and Flyer just sat by my side and looked up at me as if he was saying where have you been? My husband said – well, you have to keep him you know, I said, oh well what’s nine dogs – so he did indeed stay with us. My golden boy Troy was so happy to have his best friend back, they are best buddies --- Fly gives me his all, he loves life and he has found his forever home. |

A NOTE FROM OUR DIRECTOR |
Thank
you for your
interest in Golden Rule. I have enjoyed training dogs for over 30
years. I show Golden Retrievers in agility, obedience and field
trials. Over the years, I have put many obedience and agility titles on my
Goldens. My newest addition is a 13" TriColor Shetland Sheepdog and she has already taught me all the patience in the world and also what it is like to train a small dog.
I show and train in many
registries: UKC, AKC, NADAC, CKC and APDT. In addition, I participate in Therapy Dog
visits. I started this
business in June of 2000. It has always been a dream of mine to
own a beautiful dog training center. Call me. You will enjoy
working your dog and seeing what they can learn!
All
classes are
taught by me and the classes are kept small so there is no "one size
fits all" type of training. My facility is heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer, in a
country setting, located directly off Route 206 in Andover Boro, NJ.
